FOR THE 31st ANNUAL FURRY SCURRY!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 2024 Dumb Friends League Furry Scurry! This event would not be possible without the support of compassionate people like you. Now in its 31st year, the Furry Scurry will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024 in Denver’s beautiful Washington Park.

NOTE: this webpage is ONLY for volunteer opportunities. If you would like to register for the Furry Scurry as a participant, please visit the Furry Scurry Registration Page.

DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT BEING A FURRY SCURRY VOLUNTEER?
WE HAVE ANSWERS!

What can I expect as a Furry Scurry volunteer?

The Dumb Friends League will host a pre-event, virtual training on Monday, April 22 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. While not required, this training is highly encouraged, especially for first-time volunteers. Participants must complete the volunteer sign-up form (available in March) to attend. Meeting link information will be emailed the week prior to the training.

How do I get my volunteer T-shirt?

Volunteers can pick up their volunteer T-shirt at our Furry Scurry Packet Pick-Up event from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3 in Washington Park (intersection of S. Franklin St. and E. Mississippi Ave.). Those who cannot attend will receive their volunteer T-shirt when they check in on event day. A private changing tent at Wash Park will be available at that time.

My child is under the age of 16. Can they volunteer if I volunteer with them?

Unfortunately, no. All Furry Scurry volunteers must be 16 years or older, regardless of whether a parent/legal guardian is present.

I plan to volunteer to help with pre-event tasks so that I can walk on May 4. As a volunteer, can my Furry Scurry registration be waived?

As the Furry Scurry is the League’s largest fundraiser, we are not able to waive event registration fees for volunteers.

Does volunteering for the Furry Scurry count toward court-ordered or school community service?

No, it does not. If you are needing community service hours, please email csvolunteer@ddfl.org for information on enrolling in our community service program.

If you have any other questions about the event or any potential volunteer position, please contact our Volunteer Services department at mnicholas@ddfl.org.

Thank you!

Keep your eye out for more volunteer information to arrive over the next few months!
